Student Killed by Drunk Off-Duty Officer


A 21-year-old student at MIT was killed Saturday by an allegedly drunk off-duty cop on a Williamsburg sidewalk. The student was walking home when the drunk officer fatally struck him and three others shortly after 3am.
The officer has been known to have a history of drinking problems. He was also seen driving unsteadily just minutes before the crash. He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, three accounts of assault, and driving while intoxicated.
