Passengers Injured on a New York Waterways Ferry

More than one dozen passengers aboard a ferry from the World Financial Center were injured Saturday evening. The boat made a rough docking in Jersey City, jarring the boat, which was carrying 56 passengers. “The boat is supposed to kiss the dock and this boat kissed the dock too hard,” said a Waterway spokesman.

Nine passengers were hospitalized, including three passengers transported on stretchers. The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the collision, but it is still unclear what caused the ferry operator to make a hard docking.
