A trip to the Museum turned into a trip to the hospital

Woman was seriously injured while on her way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Sunday morning with her family. The woman was injured by a falling light pole which fell after being hit by a cab. However, the driver of the cab “said he jumped the curb after another taxi cut him off.”This is not my fault,” he said, pointing to the smashed front end of his cab. “I was driving my car very slowly. [The other cabby] was driving in the bus lane. “I pressed the brakes, but it’s not enough,” he added. “I don’t know what happened after that. It happened so fast.” The cabbie said the driver who caused the accident kept on driving.”

The woman who was injured was able to shield her two-year-old son from the pole. However, she was hit in the neck and the back of her head; possibly giving her a concussion.

The driver that initially cut off the cab kept on driving, fleeing the scene.
