Man dragged by MTA train awarded 19.5 million

A man who was dragged by an MTA train after his foot was caught between the platform and the train door has been awarded $19 million by the city. The man “required eight surgeries to repair his right foot after a fellow passenger jostled him as he attempted to disembark the D train at W. 145th Street in July 2011, and his foot became caught.Despite his terrified attempts to alert MTA personal, the train began to move southbound, dragging him along the platform as the bones in this right foot were crushed and friction tore off half the flesh on his left calf.”
The man was awarded a cool $19 million from the Transit Authority that was held liable for the accident.
